Tharavad Restaurant

Tharavad Restaurant is on 2nd Avenue in Besant Nagar, at shop number one in the E-32 building. We are quite close to the Spencers Daily, which is a big landmark for people around here. Besant Nagar is a nice part of Chennai, especially with the beach being so close, so we get a lot of people who are just out for a walk or spending time with their families. The 2nd Avenue road can get pretty packed with cars and bikes, especially on the weekends. Our place is not very big, and we have a few tables that stay busy most evenings. We don't have any fancy air conditioning or expensive art on the walls; it’s just a plain room where you can get something to eat. We have been here for a bit and we have seen the neighborhood change a lot, but we stay the same. The staff is mostly local guys who have been working here for years. We deal with the usual stuff like the occasional power cut or the rain coming in through the front, but we just handle it and keep going. It’s a decent spot for people who want a break from the heat or the wind off the ocean. We are just a small shop on a busy avenue, doing what we can to stay open and keep the locals fed. We like it here.
