Alreef The Family Restaurant

Our place is down at number 22 on Mannady Street in Chennai. If you know the area, we are directly opposite the Mariyappan Super Market, which is a big landmark around here. Our part of town, 600001, is one of the oldest and busiest sections of Chennai. It’s always crowded and there’s always something going on outside our door. We’ve been running Alreef The Family Restaurant as a local spot for quite some time. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the lunch and dinner rushes, especially on the weekends when families come out. We don't have any fancy corporate policies; we just try to make sure the food is good and the people are happy. The kitchen is always hot, and the dining area is usually full of noise, which is how we like it. We aren't looking to be the biggest place in the city, just a reliable one on our street. My family and the guys working here have been through a lot of busy seasons together. We spend our mornings getting the meat and vegetables from the market nearby and then we just start cooking everything from scratch. There’s no marketing team behind us, just us working every day. If the fans are working and the food is ready, it’s a good day. That’s just the way it is here in Mannady and we keep at it day after day.
