Aahaar Bengali Restaurant

We are tucked away on Venkatesan Street in Chepauk. The address is No 8a Old 38, right here in Chennai 600005. Being beside the cricket stadium is a big part of life for us. When there is a match on, the whole street changes and it gets very loud and crowded with people in yellow shirts. We just keep the doors open at Aahaar Bengali Restaurant and do our thing. It is a simple place, not very large, but we have our regular people who come in from the neighborhood. The street is narrow, like a lot of old parts of Chennai. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to park a bike. We spend our mornings getting the kitchen ready. The humidity here can be really something, so the fans are always going. We don't have any big speeches about what we do. It is just a Bengali restaurant in the middle of Chepauk. We focus on the food and making sure the place is clean enough for people to sit down. You can hear the stadium noise clearly if you stand outside on the sidewalk. It is a local spot, nothing fancy. We have been here on Venkatesan Street for a while now and we know most of the people who walk past our door every day. We just keep serving the neighborhood and doing the work that needs to be done.
