Anjappar Chettinad A/c Restaurant

If you have ever been to a cricket match at Chepauk, you’ve probably walked right past us. We are at Number 191 on Bells Road in Triplicane. It’s an old building, New No 16, right opposite the stadium and close to the bus stand. Triplicane is a very busy part of Chennai, and Bells Road is always full of people, bikes, and buses. We have the A/C running pretty much all the time because Chennai heat is no joke, especially in this crowded neighborhood. The restaurant is a bit of a staple here. We get a lot of people coming in before or after the games, and those days are absolutely chaotic for us. We just try to keep up with the orders and make sure the tables are cleared fast enough. It’s a narrow street, so parking is always a headache for everyone. Our staff has been with us for a good while, and we all know how to handle the lunch rush when it gets really loud in here. We don't have any fancy decorations; it’s just tables and chairs and good food. The smell of the spices usually hits you before you even walk through the door. It’s a lot of hard work, especially in the kitchen, but we’ve been doing this at this location for years and we’re used to the pace of Triplicane by now. We just focus on the next order and keep the customers fed.
