Mylapore is a very old and traditional part of Chennai, and we fit right into the neighborhood. Our restaurant is a simple place on a street that can get quite narrow and busy with people and scooters. We don't have any corporate polish or big fancy signs. It’s just a local eatery where we do everything ourselves. The day usually starts with a trip to the local market to get fresh ingredients and then we spend the morning prepping in the kitchen. We've seen a lot of changes in the area over the years, but the way we run the restaurant hasn't changed much. We focus on keeping the tables clean and the food ready. Our staff are local people who know the streets of Mylapore well. We don't go in for any promotional talk. We are just a regular business trying to provide for our families and serve the community. Sometimes the humidity in Chennai makes things feel a bit slow, but we just keep the fans going and carry on. It is a modest place and we are happy to be here at number 43. We just do our work and go home at the end of the day. It’s been our life for many years now.
