Star Chicken Biryani

You can find Star Chicken Biryani at the corner of Kariappa Street on Perambur Barracks Road. We are right near the Parveen Travels Co Operative Office in the Vepery area. The building has two numbers, Old No 105 and New No 142, which can be a bit confusing for some people. We’ve been here for a while now, just doing our thing. The shop is small and can get quite warm, especially in the Chennai heat. We spend most of our hours over the biryani pots. It’s a lot of stirring and watching the fire. We get a lot of locals from Vepery coming in, and also people passing through on the main road. It’s a busy corner, so there’s always something to see out the window. We aren’t a fancy restaurant with waiters in uniforms. It’s just a simple counter and some places to sit. We focus on getting the food ready and serving it to people who are hungry. Some days are incredibly busy, and we’re rushing to keep up. Other days are a bit slower, giving us time to clean up and prep for the next day. It’s just a regular life here. We don’t have a big marketing plan. We just open the doors and start cooking. It’s a local business through and through, and we like being part of the neighborhood. One of us is almost always here.
