Season Restaurant

Season Restaurant is over at No 3 inside the Victoria Hotel on Kennett Lane. We are right in Egmore which is one of the busiest parts of Chennai. Being opposite the Egmore Railway Station means there is never a quiet moment. We see people carrying suitcases and rushing to catch trains all day long. The 600008 area is always humid and the street is usually packed with autos and rickshaws. Our restaurant is part of the hotel but we have our own regulars too. The building is quite old and has a lot of history. We don't have a lot of modern decor. It is just tables and chairs and a kitchen that stays hot all day. We serve a lot of coffee and quick meals to travelers. The staff is quick because they have to be with the station across the street. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just cook and serve. Sometimes the street noise is a bit much but you get used to it after a while. It is a convenient spot for anyone coming off a train. We keep the place open long hours to accommodate the railway schedule. It is hard work but it keeps us busy. We just try to make sure the food is ready and hot when people need it. It is just how things are run in this part of Chennai.
