Sandeepha Veg Restaurant

Our place is located at Number 97 on T T K Road in Alwarpet. We are right opposite the Narada Gana Sabha, so during the music season, the whole area gets incredibly busy with people coming and going for the concerts. It is a nice part of Chennai to be in, even though the traffic on TTK Road can get a bit loud during the day. We have been serving vegetarian food here for quite some time now. We see a lot of regular faces from around the neighborhood, people who live nearby or work in the local offices. The atmosphere is pretty casual, nothing too formal or over the top. We just focus on getting the food out to the tables. The mornings usually start with the smell of coffee and the sounds of the kitchen getting ready. By lunchtime, it’s a bit of a scramble to find seats, but people don’t seem to mind waiting a few minutes. Being across from the Sabha means we get a lot of older folks who have been coming to this area for years. We try to keep things simple and honest. We don’t really go for fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s just a plain room with food and a lot of history on this street. Even when it’s hot outside, which is most of the time in Chennai, people still come in for a hot meal. That is just how life goes on here in Alwarpet every day.
