Rubiyaan Restaurant

Rubiyaan Restaurant is located at No 75 on Ellis Road, which is right in the Mount Road area of Chennai. If you know where Devi Theatre is, we are just right behind it. It is an old part of town and the streets are quite narrow and crowded. Most people who come to see us are either going to a movie or working in the nearby offices. The building is not new, but it has a lot of character. We have simple wooden tables and the fans are always spinning to keep the Chennai heat away. It gets really busy after the evening cinema shows let out and the whole place fills up with people talking about the film. We do not have a big staff, so during those rush hours, we are all running around quite a bit. The kitchen is always busy with the sound of clanking pots and pans. We serve the kind of food we grew up with, nothing complicated or experimental. It is just a regular spot for people who want a meal that feels familiar. Sometimes the service takes a few extra minutes when we are full, but we do our best to get to everyone. We do not have a fancy website or a marketing person. It is just us in the heart of the city, keeping things going every day. Finding a parking spot for a car is hard, so most people just come on their scooters.
