Pizza Corner (Nungambakkam)

The traffic on Nungambakkam High Road never really stops, does it? We spend most of our time inside Pioneer Sudharshan Plaza, usually by the back where the prep table is. This place at number 29 has been our second home for a long time now. You can hear the horns honking through the glass when the signals change. Most days start with us checking the fridge and making sure the counters are wiped down. It’s not a fancy setup, just some ovens and enough space to move around without bumping into each other. We’ve got a couple of regular chairs that have seen better days, but they do the job when someone is waiting for a box to be ready. Sometimes the delivery guys hang out by the entrance of the plaza, chatting while they wait for their orders. Chennai heat can be something else, so we’re always glad for the shade the building provides. We don't really do much besides keep the kitchen running and answer the phone when it rings. It’s a lot of repetitive work, cutting vegetables and checking the temperature of the ovens, but it's what we know. People from the offices nearby pop in during their lunch breaks, looking a bit tired, and we just hand over their food. No big speeches or anything, just a small shop on a busy road trying to keep things moving every day until we lock up at night.
