One Kg Briyani Shop

This little shop is tucked away in Shastri Nagar, specifically at 13/4 on 1st Avenue. Adyar is a big area, but this corner is where we do our thing. We focus on biryani, and as the name says, people usually come to us when they want it by the kilo. It is a small setup, nothing like those big fancy restaurants you see in the mall. We start early in the morning to get everything ready. The smell of the spices usually fills up the street by mid-morning. It is a lot of hard work standing over the big pots, but that is how it is done. We get a mix of people coming in—students, office workers, and families who live in the apartments nearby. Most of the time, people just pick up their order and head home. There isn't much room to hang around, so it is a quick in-and-out kind of place. We keep things simple because that is what works for us. We have been on 1st Avenue for a while, and most of the neighbors know us by now. We don't spend money on big ads; we just keep the shutters open and the food ready for the lunch rush. It is a plain shop for people who just want a good amount of food to take back to their house or office. The routine stays the same every day.
