Nawaz Darbar Homely Biryani

Nawaz Darbar Homely Biryani is located in Velacheri at No 37 C, on Velacheri Main Road. We are quite close to the Vijayanagar Terminus. This is a small place we have been running for a while now. It isn't a big fancy restaurant with a lot of staff. Mostly it’s just us in the kitchen making the biryani every day. We try to keep things simple and not use too much oil or heavy spices. The goal is to make it taste like something you would eat at home. Since we are near the terminus, it gets pretty busy with people coming and going from the buses. We have a few tables where you can sit, but many people just take their food to go. Sometimes we run out of food before the day is over because we only make a certain amount each morning. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just put a sign out front and let the food do the work. The floor is old and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it’s clean and the kitchen is kept tidy. We spend most of our time hovering over the big pots and making sure the rice is cooked just right. It is a lot of hard work but we are used to the routine by now. People in Velacheri seem to know us well and come back often.
