About Mylai Masala Ac Restaurant – Tourism in Chennai
We’re right across from the Alwarpet Anjaneyar Temple on Luz Church Road. If you know Mylapore, you know it’s a place full of tradition and lots of people walking around. We called it Mylai Masala because we wanted to keep that local feel in everything we do. Having the AC is a big deal here because Chennai gets so hot and sticky most of the year. People often come in after visiting the temple just to cool down for a bit and have some food. It’s a simple restaurant at number 114. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles or expensive decorations. The kitchen focuses on the spices that make this specific neighborhood famous. You can hear the temple bells ringing sometimes if the front door is left open. We start our day very early, getting the masalas ground and the rice ready for the morning crowd. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you might see the kids or the elders sitting in the corner during the slow hours. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team helping us out. We just rely on the people walking by on Luz Church Road. The 600004 area is our home, and we try to treat everyone like they’re a neighbor. Sometimes the floors get a bit messy during the lunch rush, but we’re quick with the mop. It’s just an honest place to eat.
