Lees Chinese Restaurant

Lees Chinese Restaurant is tucked into Annai Towers over in the Vananthurai area of Adyar. We are on the road that leads toward the Annai Velankanni Church, so we get a lot of people walking by on their way there. The place isn't very big, just a few tables and some kitchen equipment in the back. We started this because we liked the idea of having a small spot in the neighborhood where people could grab some noodles or fried rice without it being a big deal. The kitchen gets pretty hot in the afternoons, but that is just how it is with the stoves going all the time. We go through a lot of vegetables and eggs every day to keep up with the orders. It’s mostly locals who live around Adyar who come in or call us for a quick meal. We don't have fancy uniforms or a big staff, just a few of us working together to get the food out. Sometimes when the church has an event, the street gets really packed and we stay a bit later than usual. The chairs are just basic plastic ones and we don't spend much on advertising. Most people find us because they live nearby or they see the sign while driving past the towers. We just focus on making sure the food is hot and that we don't run out of ingredients before the day is over.
