Krishna Bhojanalaya Restaurant

We are located at 360 Mint Street in the Sowcarpet area of Chennai. If you know Sowcarpet, you know it’s one of the most crowded places in the city. Our restaurant is right opposite the New Jain Temple, which is a big landmark around here. We’ve been serving meals from this spot for a long time. The building is quite old and the space inside is narrow, so we have to use every bit of it. We have simple tables lined up and people usually sit wherever there is a gap. It’s a very busy place, especially during the afternoon when everyone is looking for lunch. You can hear the sounds of the street and the temple bells while you eat. We don't have air conditioning, just some old ceiling fans that we keep on high speed to deal with the Chennai heat. I’m usually busy managing the crowd or helping out in the kitchen. It’s not a place for a long, quiet dinner; it’s more about getting a good meal and moving on with your day. We try to keep things clean, but with so many people coming in with dusty shoes from the street, it’s a constant job. We don’t have a fancy menu or anything. It’s just traditional food that people like. It’s a very basic, honest restaurant that’s been part of this neighborhood for years.
