We are over on Irrusappan Koil Street at number 15, right here in Periamet, Chennai. You’ll find us near the Ellai Amman Koil. It’s a local landmark that everyone knows. We mostly focus on biriyani, as you can tell from the name. We make big pots of it every day. The smell of the spices usually drifts down the street, which helps people find us. Periamet is a busy area with a lot of trade and small shops, so we get a lot of workers coming in for a heavy lunch. It’s a simple operation. We have a few tables, but a lot of people just take their food to go. I’ve been running this with my family for some time now. We aren't trying to be a five-star hotel. We just want to serve a plate of biriyani that tastes right. The rice has to be just so, and the meat needs to be tender. We don't use any fancy machinery, just big metal pots and a lot of patience. Sometimes the floor gets a bit dusty from the street outside, but we sweep it as often as we can. It’s just a regular Chennai eatery. We don't have a big philosophy or anything. We just cook, serve, and go home to do it again the next day. Sometimes we sell out earlier than expected, but that's just life in a busy market.
