Hevea Furniture & Interiors

Our workshop is located over at 1/183, Sri Selvavinayagar, which is near the Jeeva Jothi Illam in Payasampakkam Village. Being out here in Red Hills gives us a bit more space than if we were right in the middle of the city, which is good for all the furniture we have lying around. There is often the sound of saws running or someone hammering something together in the back. We have piles of wood and different fabrics tucked into corners, and the smell of varnish is something you just get used to after a while. Most of us have been working here at Hevea Furniture & Interiors for a good bit of time, so we have our own way of doing things. It is a dusty job and our clothes usually show it by the end of the shift. The village nearby is quiet, which is a nice change when we step outside for a break. We don't have a big fancy showroom with bright lights. Instead, it is more of a practical space where the work actually happens. Sometimes people find it a little tricky to find us the first time because we are tucked away near the village, but once you see the sign, you know you are in the right place. We just focus on making the pieces and getting the interiors right, one day at a time, without any fuss or complicated systems.
