Bayleaf Restaurant

We've been at No 14 on 6th Street in Gopalapuram for quite a while now. If you know where Stella Maris College is, we’re right across from there. It’s a busy spot with students always walking by and people heading to work. We started Bayleaf Restaurant because we liked the area and wanted a place where folks could just sit down and eat something decent without a lot of fuss. Most days it's just about getting the kitchen ready and making sure everything is where it should be before the lunch rush starts. We don't have fancy decorations or a big team of people in suits. It's just us and the cooks. The street gets a bit crowded sometimes, especially in the afternoons, but that’s just how it is around here. We spend a lot of time cleaning tables and checking the stove. There isn't much to say about why we do it, other than it's what we know how to do. Sometimes the college kids come in for a quick bite, and other times it's families from the neighborhood. We keep the doors open and try to stay on top of the orders. It gets hot in the kitchen during the summer, but we manage. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just provide a place to eat on 6th Street. Most of our regulars know us by name, and we recognize them too. It’s just a normal restaurant doing normal things every day.
