Club Laptop

Working at Club Laptop in Lake Town Block-A means dealing with a lot of tangled wires and small screws. The shop at 711 is usually a bit of a mess because there are always laptops opened up on the workbenches. We have shelves full of spare parts and old screens that might come in handy someday. Lake Town is a crowded neighborhood, so there’s always people walking by and peeking in the window. It gets dusty pretty fast with all the fans running in the computers. We spend most of the day staring at screens or trying to figure out why a motherboard isn't working right. The stools we sit on aren't the most comfortable, but we’re used to them by now. Sometimes a customer comes in and we have to explain things twice because the traffic noise outside is so loud. We keep a stash of biscuits in the drawer for when things get busy and we can't go out for a proper meal. The light in here is a bit bright because we need to see the tiny connections inside the machines. It’s a practical kind of job. We don't have a fancy showroom or anything. It’s just a place where we fix things and keep the inventory organized. Most of the guys here have been tinkering with electronics since they were kids, so it feels natural to be doing this every day among the piles of plastic cases and keyboards.
