Banzara Restaurant

Being tucked away behind the 8B Bus Terminus means it is never really quiet here at Banzara Restaurant. We are at number 86 on Ibrahimpur Road which is right near Jadavpur University so we see a lot of students all day long. They are usually looking for something cheap and quick before their next class starts. The buses are always pulling in and out and you can hear the conductors shouting from the window which just becomes background noise after you work here for a week. The building is older and sometimes the walls need a bit of a scrub but we do our best to keep the tables ready for the next group. It’s not the kind of place you come for a fancy dinner but it works for the people living in Jadavpur. We get a lot of guys coming off work late at night too. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of 700032 and we have to scramble to get the candles lit so people can finish their food. It’s a bit of a squeeze when the place is full and everyone is talking over each other. My family helps out with the cooking and the cleaning when things get really busy on the weekends. We don't really bother with much decoration because people just care about getting a plate of food and a glass of water before they catch their next bus home. It is a very busy spot for everyone.
