Tokyo Palace Restaurant

Our restaurant is located in Jaisalmer, specifically in the Dhiba Para area which is quite close to the Air Force station. Living and working here means dealing with a lot of sand and heat, especially when the wind picks up. We opened this place because we wanted to have a spot where people could sit down and have a decent meal. The inside of the restaurant has a few tables and chairs that we arranged to make the most of the space. It gets pretty busy around lunchtime when people are looking for a break from the sun. We spend our mornings chopping vegetables and getting the kitchen ready for the day ahead. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just carry on as best as we can. It is a simple setup without any loud music or bright flashing signs. We just focus on the food and making sure the plates are clean. You can see the street from our front door, and there are often motorbikes parked outside. Most of our customers are locals who live nearby or people working at the base. We do not have a big menu with hundreds of items, just the things we know how to make well. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but for now, it feels like home to us. We just want to serve a hot meal and see people leave with full stomachs after a long day.
