Chandan Shree Restaurant & New Chandan Shree

We are located at No 34/4 on Fort Road, right near the Mandir Palace here in Jaisalmer. Being in such a historic part of the city means we see all sorts of people walking by our doors every day. We actually have two spots, Chandan Shree and New Chandan Shree, but we run them with the same basic idea of giving people a place to sit down and eat. It gets pretty hot out here, as anyone who lives in Jaisalmer knows, so we try to make our space a bit of a break from the sun. The menu is mostly stuff we know how to make well, nothing too experimental. We get a mix of travelers who are visiting the fort and locals who just live nearby and need a quick lunch. The morning starts with getting the chai ready and cleaning up the front area. It’s a lot of work keeping up with two locations, but we have a small team that helps keep things running. We don't spend money on big signs or ads; we just rely on people finding us as they walk down Fort Road. Sometimes it’s a bit crowded and other times it’s peaceful. We take things as they come and try to make sure every visitor gets what they need. It’s a simple life running a restaurant by the fort, and we’re quite used to the rhythm of it now after all these years.
