Dylan Cafe Restaurant

Dylan Cafe Restaurant is part of the guest house here in Jaisalmer. We’re located right at Gandhi Chowk, which is a pretty central spot if you’re walking around the old part of the city. Being in the Dylan Guest House means we get people staying upstairs who come down for breakfast or a tea in the afternoon. Jaisalmer is a dusty place with all that yellow stone, and by the time people get to our door, they usually want to get out of the sun. We’ve got a few tables set up where you can just sit and watch the bikes and cows go by outside. It isn't a massive operation. It’s mostly just us making sure guests have what they need and the food is ready on time. We’re at 345001 for the postal code. I’ve lived here a long time, so I’ve seen how much the area around the chowk has changed, but we just stay here doing our thing. It’s a simple cafe. We don't have a big menu with a hundred things on it, just the basics that people like. Most days it’s quiet until the evening when the travelers return from their trips. It feels like a second home to a lot of people who stay for a week or two. We just try to make it comfortable without making a big deal out of it. It’s just how we run things every day.
