Restaurant Jaisal Bite

Our place, Jaisal Bite, is located in the Dibba Para area of Jaisalmer, which is very close to the fort parking. It is a handy spot because many people leave their cars there before heading up to the fort. Jaisalmer can get incredibly hot during the day, so we have a few fans going all the time to keep the air moving inside. It is not a very big restaurant. We started this business because we wanted to stay in our hometown and do something for ourselves. Most of our days start very early with a lot of chopping and cooking in the kitchen. The furniture is just simple wood and metal, nothing that looks like it came from a catalog. We have some old photos on the walls, mostly things we liked or found interesting. You can hear the sounds of the bikes and the horns from the parking lot nearby, but it is just part of being in this area. We do not have a website or any fancy marketing. We just put a sign out and hope people come in. My uncle helps us out during the busier months when there are more tourists around. We buy our supplies from the local market every few days to keep things moving. It is just a basic, honest place to eat. We do not try to be anything other than what we are, which is a local spot for food.
