The Road

I’ve been working at The Road on Bussy Street for quite some time now. Pondicherry is a unique place, especially this bit of White Town where everything feels a little slower despite the traffic. We are located at number 28, just a short walk from the Citi Bank. The building itself has its own character, maybe a few cracks here and there, but it feels like home to us. Most of our days are spent just keeping things moving along. It’s not about being the flashiest place on the block. We just show up and get to work. The street outside is usually full of people and scooters, and you can hear the horns honking all day long. It's just the way life is here. We aren't trying to change the world or anything like that. We just like being part of the neighborhood. Some people stop by because they’re lost looking for the bank, and others have been coming by for years. It’s a mix of faces and stories. The weather can be tough, especially when it’s humid, but we keep the doors open. We don’t have some big corporate manual telling us how to act. We just talk to people like they’re our neighbors, which they usually are. It’s a simple life on Bussy Street and we wouldn’t have it any other way right now. Just a local spot doing its thing every day and hoping the rain doesn't leak through the roof too much this year.
