Akbar Biryani Pointe

We've been here on MG Road in Pondicherry for a while now. It's easy to find us since we're right near the KFC. People usually just drop in when they're walking around this part of town. The shop is at number 264. We spend most of our mornings getting the pots ready and the smell of the rice usually starts getting out onto the street by lunchtime. It’s just a regular place, nothing too fancy. We make biryani and that’s pretty much it. Some days are busier than others, especially on weekends when the crowd on MG Road gets thicker. Our kitchen isn't huge but we keep things moving. We try to keep the spices right so it tastes like what you'd expect. Sometimes the line gets a bit long but we do our best to get the plates out fast. It’s a simple setup with tables and chairs for anyone who wants to sit down and eat right away. We see a lot of the same faces coming back, which is nice. If you are around the 605001 area or just visiting the nearby shops, you can stop by. We just focus on the food and making sure there’s enough for everyone who shows up. It’s just us here at Akbar Biryani Pointe, keeping things going day by day in this corner of Pondicherry.
