We are located at No 7, 8, and 9 inside the Ocean Spray area on the ECR Main Road. It is a bit of a drive out from the main Pondicherry town, right near the university. Being on the East Coast Road means we get a lot of breeze from the sea, but it also means everything gets a bit salty after a while. We spend a lot of time cleaning the windows and the furniture because of the dust and the wind. The place is quite large and we have a lot of tables to look after. Most of our days are spent getting ready for the evening when people drive out from the city or students come over from the university nearby. It is a different kind of pace here compared to the crowded streets of the French Quarter. We have a lot of plants around that we try to keep green despite the heat. The staff usually arrives early to set everything up before the sun gets too high. We aren't trying to be anything too special, just a place where you can sit down and have a drink or some food. The road outside is always busy with buses and cars heading toward Chennai, but inside it feels a bit more tucked away. We just focus on the daily tasks and making sure there is enough ice and clean glasses for the night shift.
