Anandha Bhavan Restaurant

Anandha Bhavan Restaurant is on Mission Street, right across from VOC School. Most mornings start early here as we get things ready for the breakfast crowd. It gets pretty loud when school lets out or during the lunch hour. We have been at this spot in Pondicherry for a while now and people generally know where to find us. It is just a normal place where you can get a meal without any fuss or extra noise. The fans are usually running on high because it gets quite warm during the day. We spend most of our time in the kitchen or out front clearing tables for the next person. Sometimes it feels a bit chaotic when everyone comes in at once. We do not really do anything fancy here. It is mostly about getting the food out on time and keeping the floor swept. The street outside stays busy with bikes and people walking by. We see the same faces every week and some guys stop in every single morning before they head to work. It is a simple setup with water jars filled and benches ready. Being on Mission Street means there is always something happening right outside the door. If you are looking for the school you will definitely see our sign. We just keep things moving and try to make sure nobody leaves here feeling hungry. It is a lot of work but it is what we do.
