Mango Hill Restaurant

Our restaurant, Mango Hill, is located over at the Mango Hill Hotel on Old Auroville Road. We are in the Kottakuppam area, right near Pondicherry. The 605104 zip code is a bit quieter than the main city, which is why people like to come out this way. We are situated in Bommayapalayam, and it’s a nice enough spot with a bit of green around. The restaurant isn't trying to be anything too modern or stylish. We just have tables and chairs and a menu that has a bit of everything. People visiting Auroville often stop by here because we are on the way. We see a lot of travelers from different places, but we also have locals who come for a quiet meal. The weather here can be quite humid, so we try to keep the place feeling alright for anyone coming in from the sun. We don't have a big mission statement or any of that stuff. We just open the doors, cook the food, and clean up at the end of the night. It’s a simple routine. The kitchen staff stays busy, especially during the tourist season. We just want people to have a place to sit and eat without any stress. It’s a straightforward life out here on the edge of town, and we’re quite happy with how things are. We just keep the kitchen running and the lights on for whoever comes down the road.
