Keerthi Cafe

Keerthi Cafe is over at number 50 on M.M. Adigalai Salai in Pondicherry. It is one of those streets that always has something going on, especially with the local traffic and people walking by. We have been at this address for a good while, and the building shows its age a little bit, but that is part of being in this town. Most mornings start with us opening the shutters and getting the floors swept before it gets too hot outside. Pondicherry weather can be quite humid, so we just try to keep things moving. The cafe isn't anything too fancy or modern. We just have our tables and chairs set up like they’ve always been for years. Being at 605001 means we are right in the middle of things, so we see a lot of the same neighbors every day. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just wait it out like everyone else on the street. We aren't trying to be the biggest place around, just a spot where people can stop in. The street outside can get noisy with the bikes, but once you’re inside, it feels a bit more settled. We handle the cooking and the cleaning ourselves mostly. If you are walking down M.M. Adigalai Salai, you will probably see our sign hanging out front near the door. It’s a simple business and we like it that way.
