Hotel Tandoori

Hotel Tandoori is located at number 47 on Villianur Main Road in Reddiar Palayam, Pondicherry. We are pretty close to Sri Kumaran Silks, which is a big landmark around here. The road outside is usually packed with scooters and cars, especially in the evenings. We’ve been operating in this spot for a good while now. The building is a typical Pondicherry structure, nothing too modern. We spend a lot of our time around the tandoor oven, which gets very hot, especially during the humid months. It’s a physical job, and we are usually tired by the end of the shift. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we focus more on the kitchen and the seating area for now. We don't have a big corporate office or a manager in a suit. It’s just us and a few helpers making sure things are done. We see a lot of locals who stop by on their way home from work. Sometimes the monsoon rains flood the street a bit, and we have to put out bags to keep the water from coming in. It’s just part of life on Villianur Main Road. We don’t do much in the way of promotion. People know we are here because of the smell of the charcoal and the bread. We just try to keep a steady rhythm and stay open for the community.
