Panditpur Mahila Farmers Producer Company Limited

Panditpur Mahila Farmers Producer Company Limited is mostly made up of women from our village of Panditpur in Krishnanagar II. We work out of a space near Nripen Mondal’s house. For a long time, the women here have been doing a lot of the work in the fields, but we didn't have much of a say in how things were sold. So we started this group. It is not always easy to balance the farm work with everything else we have to do at home. We meet up when we can to talk about the crops and how to get better prices. The village is a busy place, and you can usually find some of us out in the dirt most mornings. We are just regular people trying to do something useful for our families. We don't have fancy titles or big desks. Most of our planning happens while we are working or sitting together in the evenings. It is about making sure the hard work we put into the soil actually brings something back to the community here. We know the land in Panditpur very well because we’ve been on it all our lives. Sometimes the weather is against us, and sometimes the market is down, but we just keep going. It is a simple life but a busy one. We are just a group of neighbors trying to make things work better.
