Akhandananda Swami Farmer Producer Company Limited

Down in Bijaynagar, which is part of the Palashipara area, we started Akhandananda Swami Farmer Producer Company Limited. Our office is just at Sunit Kumar Biswas’s house in the village. We are a bunch of local farmers who decided it was time to join forces. Farming around here can be unpredictable. Some years the harvest is great and other years we barely get by. We thought that if we formed a producer company, we could help each other with buying supplies and selling what we grow. It is not a fancy business setup. We mostly just sit around and talk about what we need for the next season. Sunit keeps the books and helps us stay organized with the paperwork. We are all neighbors, so we see each other every day anyway. It made sense to make it official so we could get things done. We don't have any big marketing speeches or plans for expansion. We are just trying to do right by our land and our families. Sometimes the forms get confusing, but we help each other through it. It is a quiet life in Bijaynagar, and we like it that way. We just want to make sure that the work we do in the sun and rain actually leads to something stable for everyone involved. It is just us, trying to make the most of what we have here in Palashipara.
