Siachen Restaurant

We are located right inside the Siachen Guest House in the Deskit Main Market area of Leh. Living and working here in Ladakh is quite something, especially when the winter starts to roll in and things get quiet. Our restaurant is mostly where the guests stay, but locals from the market come by too. It is not a very big place, just some tables and chairs where you can sit down after walking through the market. We have been here for a while now, right in Leh Ho. The address is a bit long but if you find the main market, you will find us easily enough. Sometimes the electricity goes out because of the weather, but we just keep going. My cousin helps me with the cooking and the cleaning. We don't have a fancy menu with hundreds of items. We just make what people like to eat when it is cold outside. Being near the guest house means we see a lot of travelers from all over. They usually have a lot of stories about their bike trips. It gets dusty in the summer and very snowy later on. We just try to keep the place warm for whoever walks in. It’s a simple life here in the mountains and we just do our work every day without too much fuss or worry about big city things.
