Our little noodle bar is located up here in Leh on Ford Road. It’s a different kind of life living and working in Ladakh. Things move a bit slower, and the weather really dictates how the day goes. We call the place Chopsticks Noodle Bar, and it’s right there in the Leh Ho area. We aren't a huge establishment with dozens of servers. It is usually just a couple of us in the back and someone helping out front. People come in from the cold, maybe they’ve been walking around the market or just arrived in town. We serve hot noodles because that’s what people seem to want when it’s chilly outside. The space is small, and sometimes the wind whistles through the door, but it feels like home to us. We don't have a big polished menu with photos; we just tell people what we’ve got cooking that day. It’s a practical way to run things. Sometimes we have travelers from all over the world sitting next to locals who live just down the street. It’s a good mix. We don’t do any advertising. Most people just stumble upon us while walking down Ford Road or hear about us from someone else in town. We keep the pots boiling and the tea ready. It is a simple life and we just keep at it as long as the season allows.
