Kanishka Restaurant

Kanishka Restaurant is part of the Hotel Kanishka building here on Fort Road in Leh. Being up here in Ladakh, especially in the Sheynam area, means things are a bit different than in the plains. The address is Leh Ho, Leh Ladakh - 194101. We get a lot of travelers who come to see the mountains and the old forts nearby. It’s a quiet place most of the time, though it gets busier when the tourists arrive in the summer months. We just run the restaurant as a simple place for people to eat while they stay at the hotel or walk down Fort Road. The air is thin and the winters are really cold, so we spend a lot of time just keeping the place warm. We don't have any big marketing plans or anything like that. It's just a local spot in Leh Ho. My family and the staff here just try to keep things organized. You can find us easily if you are walking around Sheynam. The building has been here for a while and it feels like home to us. We serve whoever walks through the door, whether they are from far away or just live down the street. It’s a basic setup, nothing too flashy. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks of running a kitchen in such a remote place. It keeps us busy enough.
