Padma Multi-Cuisine Restaurant

We are located at number 2, right inside the Padma Guest House & Hotel on Fort Road in Leh. Living and working in Ladakh is different from anywhere else. The air is thin and the winters are very long, but during the season, Fort Road becomes the heart of everything. Our restaurant is part of the guest house, so we see a lot of travelers from all over the world. They come in tired from their journeys and just want a warm meal and a place to sit. We don’t have a huge, complicated menu. We call it Padma Multi-Cuisine Restaurant because we try to have a few different types of things for people to choose from. The building is a traditional style, and we like it that way. It feels solid against the wind. In the mornings, we start the stoves early to get the chill out of the air. It’s a family-run kind of feel here. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a corporate manual. We just talk to people and help them out with whatever they need. The view of the mountains from near our place is something you never really get used to, even when you see it every day. When the sun goes down, the restaurant gets a bit cozy with the lights and the chatter of guests. We just do our best to keep everyone fed and happy before they head out on their next trek.
