Chospa Restaurant

Chospa Restaurant is actually located inside the Chospa Hotel. You’ll find us on Old Road in the Sheynam area of Leh. It’s a bit of a climb if you aren't used to the altitude, but we’ve lived here a long time so we don’t think about it much. We mostly cook for the guests staying in the hotel, but we get plenty of others walking in from the street too. It’s a quiet kind of place compared to the main bazaar. We don't have a big neon sign or anything like that. We just have our kitchen and a dining room that’s comfortable enough. The staff here is small, and we all know each other well. We don't follow any corporate rules about how to talk to people. We just say hello and tell them what’s on the stove. Sometimes the supplies take a while to get up here because of the mountain roads, so we just cook with what’s available. It’s a very practical way of living. We don't make any big promises about being the best; we just try to provide a decent meal to whoever is hungry. The view outside is nice, but inside it’s just a regular kitchen doing its best. We’ve been at 3 Chopra Hotel for a while now and it’s just our daily life.
