Reenam Restaurant

We started Reenam Restaurant here in Leh Ho a while back. It’s right near Lamdon School, so we see a lot of kids and teachers walking by every day. Leh is a tough place to run a business sometimes because of the winters, but we manage. We aren’t a fancy place. The walls have some old photos and the tables are just plain wood. We spend most of our mornings getting the kitchen ready before the first people come in. My cousin helps me out with the cooking and my younger brother usually handles the front. We just wanted a spot where people could sit down and have a meal without too much fuss. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to use candles, but people don't seem to mind much. We mostly get locals who live around the school area, and a few travelers who wander up this way. The address is Leh Ho, near Lamdon School, in case you are looking for it. It gets really quiet in the evenings here. We close up once the sun goes down and it starts getting chilly. There isn't a big story behind why we opened, we just needed work and we knew how to cook basic food. We keep things simple because that's all we know how to do. The pots are always humming on the stove. It’s just us doing our thing day after day in this corner of Ladakh.
