Hindusthan Trading Co.

We are located at F-16 in Bagree Market, which is right on Canning Street. If you know the area, you know how packed it gets. There’s always someone moving a cart or shouting about a delivery. Hindusthan Trading Co. is tucked away in there among all the other stalls and shops. We handle a bit of everything, mostly just trading what people are looking for. The space is small and we have stuff stacked up to the ceiling. It’s hard to move around sometimes, but we know where everything is. We spend our mornings checking the arrivals and the afternoons dealing with the customers who manage to find their way to our corner. It’s not fancy. There’s no air conditioning that works particularly well, so we just keep the fans going. We’ve seen the market change over the years, but our spot stays pretty much the same. We talk to the other traders, share some news, and keep an eye on the street. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls to get things moved from one place to another. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. It’s just us doing the daily grind in the middle of the city. People come to us because we’ve been here and they know we’ll be here tomorrow too. It is a noisy place but it is where we work.
