Sree Balaji Dental College & Hospital (Deemed University)

Living and working around Velachery Main Road in Narayanapuram means you get used to the noise and the constant movement. Our dental college and hospital is right here in Pallikaranai, and it feels like a small city on its own. Every morning, the gates open and the patients start showing up. Some look nervous, others are just regulars. The students are everywhere in their white coats, often looking a bit tired from studying. The hospital side is always humming with the sound of those dental drills and people talking in the waiting area. We’ve got chairs that have seen better days but still do the job. It’s not a shiny, perfect place you see in brochures. It’s a working hospital. There’s a lot of paperwork, and sometimes the fans in the hallways creak. Narayanapuram is a busy area, and being a deemed university means there’s a lot of pressure, but we just take it one patient at a time. The staff knows most of the local shopkeepers nearby because that’s where we go for a quick break. It gets hot in the afternoons, and the lobby can get crowded, but that’s just life here. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a place where teeth get fixed and people learn how to do it. The local buses stop right outside, so there is always a crowd at the gate. We just keep moving.
