R. Angamuthu & Sons

We are located at Mylapore, specifically at 2, 15, and 19 on C.P. Koil Street. It’s a very old part of the city, and you can definitely feel that history when you walk down the road. We’ve been around for a long time, and the name R. Angamuthu & Sons has stayed the same through it all. Most of the people who come to see us are locals who have been living in this neighborhood for many generations. We have a few different spots along the street, so we’re often running back and forth between them to check on things. It keeps us on our feet. The street can get very crowded during festival times, especially with the temple nearby. We just open up early in the morning, sweep the front, and start the day. There’s no fancy office or air conditioning that works perfectly all the time. It’s just us, some heavy wooden desks, and a lot of ledgers. We do things the way we’ve always done them because it works for us. The boys are helping out with the daily tasks these days, and we just try to keep the whole thing running without any big interruptions. It’s a lot of talking to people and making sure they get what they need. We don't spend money on big ads or anything. Most people just walk in because they saw the sign or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s a simple life.
