We’re located at No 8 Prayag Apartment, which is right on the Gandhinagar Main Road in Adyar. Most people find us by looking for the Sangeetha Hotel nearby; it’s a big landmark around here and you can usually smell the food when you’re walking toward our door. Being in an apartment building for a college office means things are a bit compact. We’ve turned the rooms into workspaces and meeting areas for the staff. It’s a very busy street outside with buses and bikes constantly going past, so there’s a steady hum of traffic in the background. Inside, it’s a bit more hushed, but we’re always moving around from room to room. We don’t have a sleek, modern reception area with glass doors. It’s more like a home that’s been turned into an office, with some old chairs for visitors and cupboards full of student records. We spend our days dealing with enrollments and talking to people who walk in off the street. Adyar is a great place to be, but it gets very humid, so our fans are always on the highest setting. We aren’t trying to impress anyone with big slogans or polished interiors. We just run the college affairs from here as best as we can. It’s a simple, functional setup where the staff knows each other well and we just get on with the daily tasks of the office.
