Leader Box House

Leader Box House is tucked away at 68 Swami Pandaram Street in Chintadripet. It’s a narrow street and things get pretty jammed up with carts and bikes. We make boxes here. Cardboard, paper, all kinds of packaging. The shop is small and it’s always packed with stacks of flat boxes waiting to be glued or folded. We’ve been in Chintadripet for a long time now. It’s a noisy neighborhood but it’s where all the trade happens. We don't have a corporate strategy or anything. We just take orders for boxes and make them. Sometimes the glue smells a bit strong in the afternoons. My cousins and I run the place. We don't really have a lunch break; we just eat when there’s a gap in the work. The walls are stained and the floor is uneven, but it doesn't matter much for making boxes. We get a lot of small business owners coming in who need a hundred boxes by the next day. We try to help them out even if it means staying late. We don't use fancy computers for the designs, mostly just rulers and pencils. It’s how we’ve always done it. If you need us, you just walk down the street and look for the pile of cardboard outside. That’s usually our place. It’s not much to look at, but we get the job done and make sure the sizes are correct before the customer leaves.
