Hot Touch Restaurant

We are over in Tondiarpet at No 137 on E H Road. The Power House is the main landmark near us. Chennai can be a very busy and loud city, and Tondiarpet is no exception. Our restaurant, Hot Touch, is a simple place where the locals come to eat. We don't have air conditioning that works perfectly all the time, and the chairs are just basic plastic ones. But people don't seem to mind much. They come for the food and the fact that we’ve been here a long time. The kitchen is the heart of the place. It’s usually a bit messy during the peak hours, but we know where everything is. We source our stuff from the nearby markets every morning. It’s a lot of walking and carrying heavy bags, but it’s the only way to do it right. We aren't a corporate chain with manuals and rules for every little thing. We just treat people like neighbors because they usually are. E H Road has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it. Sometimes the power goes out, or the water delivery is late, and we just deal with it as it happens. That’s just how it goes running a small business here. We don't make any big promises; we just open up and do our best with what we have each day. It’s a long day from start to finish, but it feels good to close up knowing we did the work.
