Hi Tex Biryani

If you are walking down Perambur Barracks Road in Choolai, you’ll find us at No 77 A. It’s right near the Market Yard, so things get pretty loud and busy outside our doors from early in the morning. We started Hi Tex Biryani because we like food and wanted a place for people in the neighborhood to grab a meal. It is a simple setup, nothing too grand or fancy to look at. We spend most of our time in the kitchen making sure the rice and meat are right. The heat in Chennai doesn't make it easy, especially near the stoves, but we’re used to it by now. The floor gets a bit worn down from people coming in and out, but we try to keep things tidy enough. You might see a bit of dust from the road outside because Choolai is always under some kind of construction or just busy with trucks. It’s a real place for real people who live or work around here. Sometimes we run out of stuff faster than we expect on weekends, and people have to wait, but that’s just life in a small shop. We don’t have any big speeches to give about what we do. We just cook, serve the plates, and hope people leave with a full stomach. Choolai is a gritty, hardworking area and we feel like we fit right in with the rest of the shops here.
