Fanar Restaurant

We are situated at No 1, Vepery High Road, which is right in the Park Town area. If you know where the Periamet Mosque is, we are just right across from it. This part of Chennai is always loud and full of energy. There’s a constant stream of people going to the Central Station or coming from the markets. The noise of the traffic and the calls from the street vendors are something we hear from morning till night. Our building is a bit tucked away, but we’ve been here long enough that people know where to go. The heat in Chennai is no joke, so we keep the fans going at full speed all day. Sometimes the salt air from the coast makes things rust a bit faster than they should, so there’s always something to fix or scrub. We aren't a big corporate chain, just a local spot where the staff knows most of the customers by name. We spend a lot of time in the kitchen making sure everything is ready before the doors open. It’s a small team, and we all do a bit of everything, from cleaning the tables to helping with the cooking. It’s a busy life in Park Town, but we like being in the middle of all the action. The mosque across the street is a good landmark for people who get lost trying to find us. We just keep working.
