Dindugal Thalapakatu Biryani Restaurant

You will find us over on Cement Road in Royapuram, at number 13. It’s a well-known part of the neighborhood, and we’ve been here serving the local community for a while. The restaurant isn't very big, so it feels a bit cramped when we have a full house. We don't have air conditioning in every part of the building, so it can get quite warm during the Chennai summers. We just keep the fans going as best as we can. Our staff works hard to keep the service moving, though sometimes things get delayed when we have a lot of takeaway orders. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements or shiny menus. The menu is just printed on a piece of paper or written on the board. We keep things simple and practical. Most of our customers are people who live right here in Royapuram or work at the nearby docks and offices. They come in, eat their meal, and go about their day. We don't try to be something we’re not. It’s a basic restaurant with a kitchen that’s always busy. Sometimes we run out of plates during the peak hours, so you might have to wait a minute for us to wash some up. That’s just the reality of a busy local eatery in this part of town. We just do the work and try to keep everyone fed so they can get back to their jobs.
