Chennai Woodlaands Vegetarian Restaurant

We are located over at No 34 inside the Tri Sea Residency on Wallajah Road. Being in Chepauk means things get very crowded whenever there is a cricket match nearby at the stadium. You can hear the roar of the crowd from the street sometimes. We mostly deal with people who are staying at the residency or folks who work in the offices around Wallajah Road. It’s an old part of Chennai, and you can feel that in the buildings and the way the streets are laid out. We get in around six in the morning to start the prep work. The kitchen gets hot pretty fast, especially in the summer. We don't really do anything special, just the usual cooking and cleaning that comes with running a vegetarian spot. I like the mornings here when it’s still a bit cool and the flower sellers are setting up nearby. We spend a lot of time making sure the sambar is ready and the rice is cooked. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we’ve got a routine down now. Most of our staff have been with us for a long time, so we don't really have to talk much to know what needs to be done. We aren't looking to change much. We just want to keep the place running like it has been for years. It's just a regular restaurant where we do our best to get through the daily chores without any fuss.
