Chennai Gateway

Our place is at No 23A on the J N 100 Feet Road, right near the Koyambedu Junction. If you know Chennai, you know how that junction is. It’s probably one of the busiest spots in the whole city because of the bus terminus and the market being so close. There is always a layer of dust on the windows from the construction and the heavy trucks that roll through at all hours. We spend a lot of our morning just wiping things down and getting the equipment ready. It’s not a quiet job. You can hear the horns honking and the bus conductors shouting from the street. We’ve been here for a bit, and we’ve seen the road change quite a lot. We just focus on the work we have to do inside. It’s a practical location for us because so many people pass by on their way to work. Sometimes it feels like the whole world is moving outside while we’re just standing here behind the counter. We don't have any fancy signs or big marketing plans. We just open the doors and see who walks in. The afternoon sun hits the front of the building pretty hard, so we usually keep the shades pulled halfway. It’s just a normal day-to-day life for us here in Koyambedu. We don't try to make it sound better than it is, it's just work. We keep the kettle going and stay ready.
